When you are looking for a new job and finally land an interview, there is a lot you can do to prepare. Especially is this necessary if you are in a clerical position and know in advance that your typing and knowledge will be tested. Simply having speed in typing is not all that is required. You also need a high level of accuracy. Along with accuracy of information and proper punctuation comes the need for proper spelling. Being a good speller seems to be something that just comes naturally to some people. Others have struggled with spelling since public school. However, there is much one can to do improve spelling accuracy. One of the key factors in improving spelling is practice. Along with practice comes reading. It just makes sense, that if you read a lot, you encounter words a lot. Most public information goes through some sort of an editing process. Find time to study and review. By exposing yourself to words, you will naturally begin to learn to recognize proper spelling.

When preparing for a new job interview and tests, you can also improve your spelling by finding an online spelling test. By doing a simple search using Google you can easily find such a test. There are all sorts of these tests out there. Within minutes you can find an online spelling test that will assess your spelling grade level. Many of these tests go further than that - they allow you to test and then practice your spelling to get your brain working. You can retest and retest until your mind starts to get in the spelling groove. If one spends at least a week prior to the interview and testing brushing up on typing speed, accuracy and spelling, you can definitely increase your chances of doing well on the test.

The online spelling test is often something that's overlooked when preparing for a job interview, however, there are plenty of these tests out there, and it makes good sense to avail oneself of these tests to increase accuracy and get your brain in the right mode for taking the actual test.

When brushing up on your spelling, along with practice using an online spelling list, it's good to keep a separate list of words that you have difficult with on a repeated basis. Once you have amassed a list of ten or more difficult words, have a friend test you and practice, practice, practice these words until their proper spelling has become ingrained in your mind. So too, some of the online spelling tests that you find will likely have this function built right in, and you can take a test on your problem words until you have them mastered.
